Mediumship without the woo and mystery
I’m August Goncalves. I teach mediumship and help people connect with the spirit world without the woo and mystery.
Before my spiritual awakening, I’d never had an experience with a spirit. As far as I was concerned, the spirit world didn’t exist.
That changed in my mid-30s, when two spirits physically manifested themselves in my living room and spoke with me. Over the next three days, my loved ones who had passed came to visit me. Everywhere I went, I saw spirits walking beside their loved ones. The spirits could see me too. Sometimes we spoke. For those three days, I experienced the spirit world and the physical world as one reality. But when I woke up on the fourth day, it was all gone.
For the next two years, I did everything I could to develop my mediumship and get that connection back. I took courses, read books and learned to meditate. I traveled the world to work with famous mediums, the ones with books and TV shows.
Even after all of that, my connection was still random. Most of the time, I felt like I was making it up.
I thought about giving up, but I couldn’t accept that those first three days were a one-time thing. So I stopped using everything I had learned and started over from scratch. I needed to figure this out. I started experimenting on my own. I began reflecting on each attempt to connect, whether I made a connection or not. I usually came away with some kind of insight. The next time I tried to connect, I would apply it. If it took me deeper, I kept using it. I kept reflecting, finding new insights, and applying what worked. I went through that cycle for years. Sometimes I stayed stuck for months without getting anywhere.
Then one day, I was trying to connect when it felt like the final piece of the puzzle clicked into place. Suddenly, I was wide open again. The spirit world was just as clear as it had been during those first three days. And this time, it didn't go away.
I started sharing that story with friends and people in the spiritual community. They began reflecting on the connections they were already having. That led to insights of their own. As they applied those insights, they started connecting better. When they told me what was working for them, I kept hearing different answers. What worked for one person didn’t work for another, and most of what worked for them hadn’t worked for me at all.
After enough of those conversations, it finally hit me. No one connects the same way.
It took me nine years to learn one thing: to have consistent, undeniable, flowing conversations with the spirit world, you have to discover your unique way of connecting.
That insight revealed my life's purpose. I've spent every day since helping others find their unique way of connecting, so they don't have to spend years frustrated and stuck like I was.
No two people connect the same way. Videos, books and courses help, but they’re made for everybody, so they only take you so far before you plateau.
